Basil ‘Sweet Genovese’ A popular, aromatic addition to many mediterranean dishes, delicious with tomatoes. Quick and easy to grow, reaching around 40cm (16in).
When to plant: Spring and Summer
How to grow: Sow 5mm (0.25in) deep and 30cm (12in) apart where they are to grow in a sunny position and rich well drained soil. Keep moist. Can be grown all year round indoors in good natural light – a northfacing windowsill is perfect.

Harvest: Pick leaves as required
